Description
Kala Chashma, meaning “Black Spring” in Pashto, is a well-known natural spring located in the breathtaking Kumrat Valley of Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Despite its name, the spring’s water is crystal clear, believed to be named after the dark, moss-covered rocks and terrain at its source. The spring is set against a backdrop of dense pine forests and alpine scenery, making it a refreshing stop for trekkers and tourists exploring the valley. Kumrat Valley itself is celebrated for its unspoiled natural beauty and hosts several other attractions, including the Panjkora River, Jahaz Banda meadows, and the tranquil Katora Lake, making Kala Chashma a key part of the region’s rich landscape.
