Description
The Lowari Tunnel is a 10.4 km vehicular tunnel beneath the Lowari Pass in Pakistan's Hindu Kush mountains. Completed in 2017, it connects Dir and Chitral, facilitating year-round travel on the N-45 National Highway. This tunnel bypasses the treacherous Lowari Pass, which is often closed due to heavy snowfall, thereby reducing travel time and enhancing safety for travelers to and from Chitral.
